Research
Tabeisa is involved in researching the whole area of entrepreneurship. The more we know about entrepreneurship the better we can help and support entrepreneurs "to entrepreneur"
Tabeisa has hosted several major research events including;
September 2001 : Tabeisa Research Conference East London
September 2002 : Tabeisa International Conference on Higher Education and
Economic Regeneration,
Peninsula Technikon, Cape Town, South Africa
A critical area of the whole project is the encouragement and promotion of
entrepreneurship. To this end staff and community development programmes have
been designed and developed by the project team. Project team members are also
visiting local schools to promote entrepreneurship at all levels of education.
During the last eighteen months over seven hundred staff and community groups
have completed a Tabeisa entrepreneurship programme and some of these staff
have now registered on the Tabeisa Masters in Entrepreneurship.
The Tabeisa Masters in Entrepreneurship has been designed to ensure that it
features the development of small business in disadvantaged communities. Case
Studies of small businesses developed by the Tabeisa Technology Enterprise
Centres are being developed to accompany the four taught modules on the programme.
The taught modules constitute 50% of the Masters and the other 50% is a mini
dissertation that is required to focus on some aspect of entrepreneurship.
Over thirty staff are now nearing the completion of the first delivery of the
Masters and an evaluation of the programme is currently underway.
Tabeisa has produced numerous research reports and publications.
